A suggestion: watch svendre play online when you get the chance. He's good.

So I'm messing around with a Gnoll Ru follower. Sac Hand came around and I went for it. My Shield dropped to 0, which makes sense. But my Bow skill is still 5.8.

Why is that? Is there a one-handed bow that I haven't found yet?

So I've never really played with Ru before and I tried to look for posts on this god but searching "ru" doesn't work so well. Any vets care to share some tips for using Ru with a primary melee character? Say, HO or Mi? Thanks in advance.

Depending on how them implement this, it could be a boost. Let's say everything in LOS follows you. That'd allow me to pop down into say, V5, drag a swarm of enemies up and kill them on favorable terrain, without serious sound risk and with the ability to reset safely.

Should Orc be moved up earlier in the dungeon? To me, O1 always feels easier than D15. O2 varies, depending on what vault(s) you get. What about ditching O1 entirely and making O2 a timed vault (like Elf) on D10-12 or something?

I feel the game is easier to play now--e.g., I don't have to do stuff like victory dance any more, yeay. For what it is worth, I watched part of severen's no branch run and he wasn't goofing around. His runner was often underpowered so he had to play more cautiously around packs. He was not just hiding in some kill hole mashing 5 hoping everything would come to him. That win is pretty impressive.

I've been playing v 3.33 offline and really enjoying the changes. No food, no ammo, and auto-ID makes the gameplay smoother and faster. No upstairs deters stashing and grinding. Seems like you're going for one-handed axe + shield. With that axe, you're probably not going to be swapping much, so I'd work on getting some kind of ranged attack soon. Maybe throwing.
