Thanks guys. This is really helpful. WJC is weird, but fun to try and figure out. From some casual testing, cleave stabs with small axes didn't seem impressive and reach doesn't stack with Lunge. +2 elec long sword
+2 poison glaive
+5 piercing spear (artifact with more str)
+5 elec hand axe

Depending on how them implement this, it could be a boost. Let's say everything in LOS follows you. That'd allow me to pop down into say, V5, drag a swarm of enemies up and kill them on favorable terrain, without serious sound risk and with the ability to reset safely.

Should Orc be moved up earlier in the dungeon? To me, O1 always feels easier than D15. O2 varies, depending on what vault(s) you get. What about ditching O1 entirely and making O2 a timed vault (like Elf) on D10-12 or something?

I feel the game is easier to play now--e.g., I don't have to do stuff like victory dance any more, yeay. The content is probably harder now--e.g., V5 layout, no controlled TP, nerfs to C-Blink, new enemies, removal of healing wand, etc.--but Crawl feels easier to me overall because I'm a better play...

The sprint maps don't seem to work anymore. The exit is now just an archway--perhaps due to the removal of upstairs? I can still win the Zig map since the exit spawns when I go through the last teleporter but 10 Runs, Fedhas, and Pits seem to be no long winnable. :(

For what it is worth, I watched part of severen's no branch run and he wasn't goofing around. His runner was often underpowered so he had to play more cautiously around packs. He was not just hiding in some kill hole mashing 5 hoping everything would come to him. That win is pretty impressive.

I'd use those ID scrolls on the three biggest stacks of potions.

I'd stop skilling Spellcasting for now and work on getting some Hexes. Prism and Spray are both good and they'd benefit from more Hexes (and it's cheap).

I'd use something other than that staff to kill popcorn. Chaos can be bad...

I haven't tried it against Star Masses, but when I go Qaz, I try very, very hard to stay out of the Abyss. :D My experience with Qaz is that: Qaz limits me in two ways: (1) I draw a lot of attention and (2) I can't rely on summoned help. So basically I'm better off choosing a runner that is not lame...
