I agree with the OP, at least for wands. Chaos-branded weapons are fine, as you hardly ever see them except when worshiping Xom, but wands of random effects are common items and are not, to my knowledge, officially tied to Xom (even if he enjoys their use).

It's an extreme edge case, but I've put on rings of teleportation while confused as a mummy, simply because confusion takes away so many options that hoping for a miracle was the most sensible thing to do.

TSO's a bit misleading like that. He also says he hates mephitic cloud, but he doesn't. Feel free to use that, just don't do anything that deals damage to a confused enemy (unless it's a type TSO doesn't care about).

He would still only cast it randomly, and if that's a problem you just make it affect all items in line of sight. You could even make it a charm-type spell that causes all items in range to move towards him each turn, for a short period of time. Problem solved.

This sounds much better than the MR spell idea, since that was A) a boring yet optimal spell and B) something that would be just as hard if not harder to find as MR items, and harder to use. This slightly alleviates the problem of being unlucky with MR items, and is balanced by being a consumable.

Suggestion: Harpies no longer steal food from your pack. However, they still steal food from the ground and if for whatever reason you try to eat in front of them they can snatch it out of your hands. Keep the flavor, remove the tedium.

To be honest, I wouldn't even worry about the max duration of a single Xomfusion. Xom is quite happy to chain confuse you, so the actual amount of time you spend confused is practically unlimited.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Naga Warper. Teleportation helps make up for their biggest weakness, and their high HP and decent aptitudes help them kill stuff without the benefit of starting with offensive spells.

I think if there's one aspect of Chei's that doesn't need buffing, it's slouch.
If I were to give Chei anything, I'd like to see an offensive temporal distortion/step from time. In essence, it would be similar to banishment, only the monster is unbanished after a semi-random amount of time.
