Usually the corpses rot fast enough that it's not an issue. Rest after a fight from low health -> all corpses rotted. If you go exploring and come back, you'll probably just find one or two skeletons instead of the corpses. Even if they are still corpses, the advantage in zombie duration is marginal...

That's an interesting quirk, but it's because of the low number of games in your example. It's not a flaw in my metric; any sane metric should give the same result. Instead if you multiply the number of games by 10, with games = [[100,10],[10,100]], then C2 wins most of the time as you would expect....

And indeed, Shoals was easier, and after I came back to Snake with Bolt of Cold, the first Naga Sharpshooter I met died in 2 turns (BVC one turn, bolt of cold killed him the second turn). A vast improvement over getting shot at for 5+ turns while waiting for BVC + zombies.

As a matter of fact, watching the tv again, he did cast shatter (at 17% fail) three times on U:1 immediately before he died. Well, you were wrong, that's a nice +2 shield with reflection. It's doing a lot for his defenses and it does not take long to get 15 shields when you already have 8.5 trained.

To clarify, you shouldn't have dropped the shield, you should have trained shields to 15 to remove the penalty. You also had Lehudib's Crystal Spear ready to memorize which is better than iron shot.
