Re: Minor god powers for demigods

I think there's room in the game for a species with the godless gimmick. Although having high attributes that the player has lot of control over is powerful, it seems to be boring compared to the demonspawn mutation lottery. So controlled power > mutation lottery when it comes to fun. Crawlers are g...

Sorry for your loss.

If you want to give felid another go, and like spells, I'd recommend FeEn. Being a stealthy enchanter plays to felids' strengths and I find hex-stabbing to be my most successful playstyle as a cat. I definitely find it easier than a FeBe.

God wrath always carries a risk. Sometimes the reward seems worth the risk though. One example I can think of was a HE^Oka who went for all runes and had been gifted great Int+ gear. Although felids benefit from a variety of spells, switching from Trog is just too likely to kill your character. "Meaningful choice" gets mentioned often, and I agree it's a great design goal. OTOH, it is at odds with the decision of hiding the actual numbers that make an informed choice possible, which IMO is a worse goal. In a skill-based game with 4 defensive attributes (HP/AC/EV/SH) it makes sens...

Berserk is roughly equal to statue form for most purposes (except of course when it runs out you better damn well be out of danger), you do have to make do with hex wands for hexing, but that's ok. FeEn is a solid start for the same reasons SpEn is.
