I'd turn off conj and pump casting, charms, and fire. Pumping charms will help get you the good defense spells. It would not hurt for you to get traps to 3 and invoc to 4 or 8. I was on level 20 of Ziggurat and met an army of dwarves. You died to Pain Mirror. Deep Dwarf zig levels are dangerous because some of the dwarves can be Yred followers. A persistent AoE attack is a very bad idea, as you found out. Sorry to see your run end. Good luck when you decide to come back.

K, a couple of things here. I think your magic skills are kind of high. Spellcasting at 7 is fine. But you didn't need Conj at 11--having Conj match Spellcasting would have been enough.
