play Mi/GrBe

play offline and savescum (copy your saves folder) after every floor. paste save folder after you die. repeat until you win.

after some time you will savescum less and less until you can reliably win

i think its in the right place on the power curve for a lv7 dual school / lv8 single school spell. still i also think that unless devs drop the "no acid spells in poison magic school" conduct theres no elegant way to make poison work past mid game

most of bad mutations are harmless though, while most of good mutations dont mean jackshit. theres enough cure mut potions to clear any frail, teleportitis or slow reading muts, and you if you lose that rC+ or +2 str along with it its not a big deal.

Its easy, if you switch to makhleb and get castable statue/dragon form around depths.

To survive trog wrath a combination of invis, stealth, blink / teleport is recommended

I guess that would be one of the versions between dismissal being created and warding no longer existing. But my point is that DCSS is a very random game as is, with damage rolls being 1-x damage, with very random and swingy combat. you really gotta play some ToME4 if you want to expierence swingy ...

by the way a simple solution to kill-holing whole vaults/floors would be to have vaults enemies be leashed to the vault - once they get too far from it they are instantly teleported back inside with their hp/status effects reset

OpEE is a very easy start - sand blast will carry you to lair. later you can easily transition to blaster mage (veh) or stoneform uc fighter (makh)
