Re: Zigs, and Firestorm vs. Tornado

Tornado just doesn't do damage quickly enough compared to firestorm. If you got Vehumet (or reliable mana replenishment) than firestorm is definitely better. Glaciate is nice but you can't attack things at the edge of your LOS. Best is both of course :)

Re: view/clear all macros on webtiles?

sometimes macros will read your scrolls or move you around it just happens I assume you mean that macros can be finicky if you try to get too smart with them. Either way you didn't answer my question - how to view all macros (so I can manually reset the one that is causing the issue) or clear all m...

view/clear all macros on webtiles?

I think I accidentally created some macro that keeps reading my scrolls of magic mapping. It only very rarely happens so it's probably an accidental key-press but I can't for the life of me figure out what key is triggering it. Anyway to list all the macros or simply clear them all?

That's pretty key stuff, there. Never could have found that other than by accident, so thanks.

I think they recently made some changes that significantly reduced ranged accuracy- I'm not sure if it's still in the trunk though. Pretty annoying and I don't really understand why...

Re: Ziggaruts with melee character

Recently tried melee zig+zin with quiet a lot of success: 1.) If it looks like you might die (around 100hp for me), use sanctuary and stasis and spam wield/unwwield the distortion weapon. Seems like there is a ~25% chance of banishment upon unwield. So at 10 turns you have about a 95% chance of gett...

Re: How good is an eveningstar?

I'd go with the freezing demon whip. 1.) Freezing is one of the best brands (crushing +16% VS freezing : +25% dmg, , even against rc+ it does +12% dmg) 2.) Attack speed of .5 vs .7 is a 40% difference in attack speed. Basically you get nearly 3 attacks in the time it takes to get 2 attacks from the ...

Yup, seemed like the right choice I died anyway.. massive evasion combined with 3AC leads to dangerous play.

Cutlass of speed VS Cutlass of electricution

Which would say is better? It'll be the primary weapon on a spriggan assassin (unless I need dagger for extra stabby damage). I've heard really good things about cutlass of speed but to me the 7 base damage seems so low that one is better off with electricity. Also having to mash the keyboard even m...

Re: optimal skill management misconception

@Galefury Good points - the spellcasting skill can definitely be worth investing in 100% (if you need to memorize a spell asap), and same goes for trying to get some single-school spell to a reasonable success rate (although points in spellcasting can help with this too ). Other skills, depending on...

optimal skill management misconception

I have many times seen this sort of advice in these forums: UC till 10 Fighting till 5. X skill till Y. This guideline is then backed up by the assumption that it's "always better to train one skill at a time". These seems completely false to me. I know the wiki is wrong at times, but acco...

Okay, so here is how it works, quote me on this post and tell me you're ready to revert to your previous save. Re: Cannot load game on lantea trunk

The server is now updated and old saves should work again. If you started a new game on Lantea in the last ~7 hours, do NOT transfer your save as that might still cause issues. So unfortunately I did transfer my save. I had a pretty sweet halfling berserker going. I get the error "Unfortunatel...

Re: Hidden orc mines entrance?!? (luckiest game!)

Just thought I'd make a post here that in the trunk I found the Orcish mines on d12 if anyone is having trouble finding it. The trunk is now I think only 16 levels deep, so those changes might have effected it.
