It seems that you made it out with your SpBe, but for other ones that might try this, I suggest an abusive use of throwing and blowgun. Trog should gift nice needles (confuse and para). It allows you to destroy extended and laugh at every unique so easily... That's not an approach I had thought of....

Thanks all. Just to say I went for the demon whip and it really made the difference for melee. OOFs were easily killable with might and haste quaffed - I was careful to split packs and isolate oof- I’m sure 2 of them together would have trashed me easily. I think I’ll go for formicid Be next, though...

well runes from snake and shoals retrieved. And bizarrely not a single boots or gloves during the entire game so far... Suggestions for where next, skilling for this little guy? Thanks folks. I do intend to upgrade the armour but there has been a spectacular lack of enchanted ring, scale or chain... the longbow is great, but I use it so much I run out of branded ammo even with trog.. I can certainly see that poisoning a monster and running is good I.e. When using a blowgun on an ogre or something. But when venom is on a melee weapon, this will only work if you run faster than the monster, surely. And have a safe place to run to
