Dragon form does a truckload of damage. Base damage is something like 18+2/3Str + UC. So in the late game you can have it be somewhere in the range of 40-50, and that's pretty obscene.

I think giving just a destruction deck is a pretty good idea. Asterion has major destruction, which is a variety of effects that players would know if they play Makhleb. Players would similarly know Sabin's if they play Nemelex. I don't see how that is that different.

Yeah, the Abyss will spawn stuff within LOS. Should have mentioned. I don't think Pan will. I don't think Hell will either (barring hell effects).

The only place where you can miss your chance of getting runes is in Pan. The game even warns you that you'll miss out on it.

They won't spawn within sight out of thin air. They can spawn from staircases within sight though. If a monster randomly appears in fron of you and it wasn't from a staircase, I got teleported there.

I think it'd be a good idea to stick Wz into warrior-mage. I've greatroled Wz, and the only wins that were heavy magic was w/ a DE and Sp.

NaWz is pretty good, I greatly enjoyed my mfwz game. I love playing DsWz.

It 's my favorite background , though I never use call imp.

Does anyone else just skip Depths? I avoid exploring it when I can. I tend to have 8 ?mapping scrolls after getting my third rune, and just dive down to Zot 5. It's not hard to avoid shrikes when you only see <10% of Depths.

Yeah there is both an ice and fire facet for tiers 2&3. I personally think icemail is better than freeze, sucks that they're less common than the other tier 2s.

I think this idea is pretty cool. However, it'd be the only starting book with a level 6 spell, which I don't think is a good idea. Give it ignite poison instead of irradiate? except, it wouldn't? also, ignite pois would be a terrible spell to start with if you don't have a way of, you know, poison...

Since the only fire/ice spells I use typically are conjure flame/fcloud/Ozo's armour, I typically drop them once I've found a ring of rF/C. Sometimes when I haven't found any other sources of rF, I'll grab rings of fire for zot.

I always found training a lot of stealth helps you get through Pan/Hell unmolested. I also find Ash is pretty great for ninja-ing runes.

Isn't Yred in a good spot right now? The servants Yred gifts are pretty powerful, and animate dead/injury mirror are pretty strong I think. My understanding was that Yred was for winning a 3ish rune game. Not giving piety for demons/undead cememts that.

You could make it so they need to gain X amount of piety to be able to draw another card, to prevent a player from just using it all at once. Basically, once they get the deck, they can draw 1 card from it, then be able to draw another every time they get a deck.

Only 2 of the 5 body mutations actually negatively affect your character (horns/antenne). The other three still allow the aux equipment. It basically does nothing if you get talons 1/2 or whatever.
