Oddly enough, ignite poison makes for the easiest hive I've ever completed. The uber gear may help too, but man is it fun. The whole screen flashes red, and then they die. It's so much fun.

Sticks to snakes is also your best way to victory dance pure transmutations, if you don't want to risk splashing too much into necro, ice, poison, etc.... While that is true in the current stable version (0.7), it isn't any more. Sticks to snakes is the best way to victory dance transmutations now....

Also, for air elementalists, there is a spell called Airstrike? Maybe you've heard of it?

I support renaming every upgraded version of monsters (death yaks, blink frogs, the better bees) to mega-foo.

There are some pretty crazy vaults in the labyrinth. I actually got creeped out a little bit when I found a bow and arrows, then found a centaur corpse after a couple of switchbacks.

How is that a problem? Not every spell needs to be useful for every character. Unarmed combat characters have little use for Freezing Aura, yet nobody complains about that. I complain about that all the time. I mean I want even more sillily large amounts of damage on my blade hands than I'm getting...
