I'd rather the "good fight" piety boost to be based only on the threat level of an enemy, so punching above your weight gives a bigger piety boost than letting a spider almost nibble you to death.

One idea for some buffs is to have them reserve some of your max MP, but be permanent until you choose to end them (from 'a' menu i suppose). This might be worth looking at for some of the lighter buffs like shroud that don't contaminate you.

If you are going to do that I would suggest a {Heroic} tag for gear that causes the enchantment level to grow and shrink as you do things, as I imagine having disappearing armour would lead to a lot of tedious Ctrl-F when he strips you naked in safe circumstances.

I think fighters could stand to start with a beefier 1-hander for some of the types. If they are supposed to be the heavy-fighter types they could come with a Sabre/War Axe/Longsword/Trident/Flail to start.

"of Slicing/Crushing/Piercing/Chopping" are fine, but "of Stabbing" uses the exact same term as another dagger mechanic. "Foo of Piercing" works fine for the stabbing short-blades, and is the same term as the stabbing polearms.

That would 1. be redundant with the existing mesmerizing monsters, 2. never be any sort of threat. Also, the attack does require line of sight, just not line of fire. You're right, the effect requires line of sight but not line of fire. Giant eyeballs are not independently a threat anyway, but mesm...

I agree, using the same term to mean something different in this way is pretty bad. Easy fix is to rename it "Foo of Piercing" I guess, but the Vorpal brand is pretty underwhelming overall and could use some attention. I'm not familiar with the damage formula but it seems like Freezing is ...

It is not clear that a blink scroll is any different to Controlled Blink until you try to use one in -cTele, since you don't get a semi-controlled blink from a scroll, but you do from the spell.
