Summon canine familiars (with a potion of brilliance if you have to) and black ebony boxes are also pretty good. War dogs close with oklob plants very quickly.

You should try different dragon armors. Fire and ice armor has only a -3 evasion penalty making it as cumbersome as scale, while being capable of holding +8/+9 enchantments. Even if your dex is low, with around 8 dodging you can get 10-12 evasion. It's a low evasion score, sure, but you'll be thankf...

I'd enchant your boots with the scrolls you have, learn deflect missles, learn controlled teleport and vorpalize the katana with slicing and use it. I'd also swap the intelligence ring for resistances. With haste, regen, swiftness, teleport control and deflect missles you should be able to kill most...

I'm surprised that crystal plate mail wasn't a mimic. I would have shot that whole stack of +5 arrows at it. You can't wear mimics can you?

Trog gives way better gifts. I tried playing KoBE and my first gift was a +4/+12 vorpal quickblade, stealth++, and I got two +6 quickblades after that. Okawaru's idea of a gift is a +4/-6 longbow of speed, but I've gotten ego boots/barding from him too.

You're going to have to try it and tell us=P Having a Wiglaf buddy sounds handy in case you meet Boris or something. No telling if he'll stay with you after you take it off. I found mine on a high elf=/

HeAM sounds like a win. I wouldn't try slinging an orb of fire without Trog gifts, but you'll be able to avoid/survive them much easier with access to spells.
