Re: How to run bots on servers

Do also look carefully at how qw throttles when running online and try to emulate that. THIS! bots are cool, but they hammer the server. When I notice a bot that is running particularly hot (5x more resources consumed compared to regular games) I typically ask them to throttle it some more. (especi...

Like hellmonk said above, hellcrawl is currently playable on CBRO which hosts both webtiles and console. Works just fine. Let me know if you are having trouble connecting.

Re: Developing Ieoh Jian Council (Latest version inside)

Looks like one of the devs pulled this into an official branch in the source. This makes it really easy to create an experimental (I tried to hook up the existing process to also use pull requests, but couldn't quite get it working). This is available to play on CBRO now. http://crawl.berotato.org:8...

Re: IRC bots endlessly spam ##crawl

It's absurdly simple to make changes to the bot (for cbro at least). But I've always kept it consistent with the other servers (unless the other announcement bots made changes and I haven't been informed). If people are actually avoiding chat instead of ignoring or /ignoring the bots, then I agree i...

Re: New Species: Imp (playable implementation)

Tossed this up on a branch, so people who are of a mood can set it up (the cbro admin has set up experimental branches for a lot of species like this). Also added a tiny cosmetic tweak. Re: Server Admins

The fastest way to contact me is from IRC via !tell johnstein <message> from ##crawl on freenode. But a private message here would be the next best thing. I will take a look at the recent crashes on CBRO to see what's up. Stay tuned. EDIT: I relayed the info to the devs on IRC and they've pushed out...
