Tip: Next time, put the character dump between code tags, it becomes much nicer to read that way.

Computer wasn't broken, I just didn't play for a very long time. After that I had a couple of years' break from Crawl.

Well, if you find and are willing to wear +int equipment, it's quite possible to get +40 int. Then you don't have to max Spellcasting. (My 3-runer HOWz had Int 38 and Spellcasting 23.)

I started with Nethack around 1991. After 1995 I started following and posting to rec.games.roguelike.nethack. Then I noticed people posting in rec.games.roguelike.misc about a cool sounding game called Linley's Dungeon Crawl. I started playing Crawl in 1998.

Yes, if the first bazaar was generated normally. But you won't get yet another bazaar from Trowel (you get each portal type once).

Krakens seem to be quite rare. I remember the very first time I went to Shoals there was a Kraken there (which IIRC even killed me). After that, most of the times I haven't seen one in there. Or maybe they're just lurking in corners.

I don't think the game can cheat. It plays exactly the way it is coded.

ADoM has that. Then you can cross deep water over the ice bridge, provided you're not carrying too heavy a load. Then a fire-breathing dragon comes around while you're on the bridge...

If you just want to win, stay out of Elf, Crypt, Tomb, and Slime.

When I first won Crawl, only one rune was needed for Zot and on Zot:5 you could control-tele to the Orb and back. No notable opposition during the ascension either.

Abyss would probably be easier than Vaults:5 for a stealthy character like yours, but they are completely different experiences.

Abyss is fine, and for a stealthy character getting the rune can even be quite easy.

I've killed Mennas exactly once, with a GrSu. Four castings of Haunt did the trick.
