Re: YASD: HOAr of Nemelex, end of streak

I splatted a HaWn who got into an interesting fight with Eustachio and Menkaure. After using ?immolation I kind of forgot to blink away before dealing the final blow to Menkaure -> 39 damage from the explosion, good bye HaWn.

Currently on Lair:8 with a HaBe, looking good.

You are right. I never claim to train skills optimally. I have my own system, which depends on the background and aptitudes of the character. It's a roleplaying thing I guess. In this case, playing an Artificer, I put 50% of exp to Evocations all the time. Then I train one other skill (which one, de...

I'd do Shoals next. Use invisibility on the last level. You must have better armour somewhere than that -1 leather. If you really want to use that shield, get 15 Shields skill (I suppose no ego bucklers are around). That weapon is nice, train more weapon skill. There's no hurry for Fire Storm.

YASD: HOAr of Nemelex, end of streak

The only significant thing about this death was that it ended my first ever Crawl streak (HEMo, DEHu, DDAs). Started a HOAr. When I found an altar of Nemelex on D:2 I honestly thought I'd have a good chance of extending the streak. But I didn't quite get to the point where decks start coming in at a...

Well, you don't have to (and shouldn't) learn all the spells Vehumet offers. If you want Delayed Fireball, just kill some monsters to get to the next XL so you get one more spell level free. Or train some more Spellcasting. The offer will be there for a while.
