Krakans can appear outside of shoals:5. They are pretty scary with their super long tentacles and massive damage.

I think item destruction is a nice way of teaching new players not to be pack rats. Why not use my scrolls of blinking when I'm likely to lose them later on anyway.

People are still going to stash items due to weight restrictions.

Daggers for stabbing as they get mad bonuses but if you are just going toe to toe with a monster switch to a saber or quickblade. Turn off ice unless you are planning to branch into ice magic - I wouldn't. I'd keep short blades on till you reach around 8 depending on what version you are playing in ...

I've never had trouble in Shoals:5 unless there is a Kraken around. Those things are death machines. The tentacles move faster than a flying+swiftness glass canon can run and they hit harder than a stone giant. I've cleared the shoals quite a few times and the only times (3) I've died it has been to...

Summon dragon is amazing - they last for ages and destroy everything.

It can summon gold, iron and quicksilver dragons which is disastrous for your enemies. It made fighting Bov trivial for me.

That being said I was a mummy of Sif at the time and so mana and food were not constraints.

In my experience summon demon is way better than summon ice beast. But this was from paying Mummy wizards of Sif = no worries about mana pool = keep summoning until you have a couple of 2's and heaps of 3's. I've never had any trouble with dealing with hostiles from summon demon, seems to be rare at...
