Unless I'm mistaken, cblink also causes contamination, so you can't just keep bopping all over the place until your MP runs out. But yeah, contamination is a system you don't interact with much; it's more of a regulator to keep you from overusing some strong effects or casting spells with high fail ...

Interestingly, they also seem to aggressively attack player-allied summons.

Corruption is god-damned fantastic, by the way. OOFs and aliches kind of overpowered it on Zot:5, but even in Vaults:5 it took care of really a massive number of the monsters.

Yeah, and really I don't just care about damage, I also care about blink, tele, and banishment and fsim doesn't sim those. I suspect that a disto spear is a fine endgame weapon, to be honest.

If you're with lucy you can also go to abyss if you're gonna die in V:5, plus you can gate in a ton of abyss beasts to wreck everything else on the level. I imagine "hatch in, if you're in a bad area, read ?noise, corrupt, and tele out once things get scary" is not a terrible plan actually...

If you really want to stick to a ranged only conduct, do two kinds of launchers with one of them slings. You'll have no problems. You'd probably need to start slings and startscum the early game to make sure you had enough rocks and an early altar. I think it would be a very tedious game :/ wait ho...

The change in move speed is not particularly relevant, either. You want to slow monsters' actions, because movement is the only thing that's slowed for you.

You're missing that monsters in transit are not actually guaranteed to appear in Abyss. Unless the monster is a unique, it and its inventory are probably going to be destroyed. Well, that's silly. It looks to me as though yes, all banished monsters go to the abyss unless they were pacified, in which case they drop their gear and are just gone.

The other nice thing about branding a demon blade is you don't need to switch weapons before beating on a lich. (Well, okay, you probably have dispel undead but still.) I'm real bad at remembering to switch weapons, so 'tab will ultimately kill pretty much anything' is a good place for me to be in.

If you want a statue troll, I'd roll EE instead of Tm, it's not like Changes is super useful to Trolls outside of Ice Form. Having a reliable ranged attack helps with Chei's downsides, if you want to go the "take it easy" route.

The .cs file isn't really what you want; it's best to post a character dump (press "#" in-game) and put it in [code] tags. Where are you generally running into trouble? It's hard to tell you if you should be training conjurations (in general, not unless you started with conjurations); bows...

My main reason for agreeing with the OP: it makes the mechanic clearer. Heroism adds 5 to the relevant skills. End of story. I'd also argue that you should see the HP boost from Fighting as well.

It's also kind of cool to have a way to have your skills go past 27, if only temporarily.
