I've always thought the same thing thing. Simple but effective sounds, like the ones Avernum uses would be perfect for this game. I think it would make it more immersive.

So I just received the second level of shadow attuned as a mutation, but I have not been training stealth at all. Should I get a few levels in it to make good use of this mutation? As it is now, I'm currently on D9 and even without any stealth, most monsters do not notice me at all.

Dropped to L3 to flee the ghost and ran smack dab into a nest of blink frogs and green rats, in the wide open. Took a few out but was overwhelmed. Ah well. On the bright side I beat my reccord for both descent and score, so it wasn't a total wash. Also learned some valuable lessons.
