First Caster VP: GnFE^Ash + Gnoll small change proposal

Hi everyone! In the end I got the first "pure caster" win. Ok - gnolls cannot be considered "pure" caster in the traditional way, but I think that wearing steam armor qualifies me for it. Weird run in which I found something like 5 crystal balls and 4 staves of Energy, but no rea...

Hi everyone! First online win, Troll Fighter of Nemelex. I am very happy of this win because Nemelex was the first god I was using when joining crawl, and I always liked Troll in general. Never got a win with those... until I tried them together. What I learned: ⋅  Nemelex is very strong i...

Hi everyone, just wanted to thank the devs for the Gauntlet. It's really a LOT of fun, and well thought and designed. Re: YASD - DrIE ^Sif - why so F* hard?

Latest version of Depths is harder than Elf, in my opinion.
If you are really careful and you have decent survivability in melee (for dancing weapons), you can manage it.
Just beware of banishment to Abyss... engage 1-2 enemies at once, and teleport away when things get hard.

I do suppose that the abilty to shield from fireballs and polymorph can make it the best spell, but if you care so much about that then surely summon spells would be far better.
