Xom doesn't like speedrunners and he certainly doesn't like to be entertained as some have suggested, what he likes is that one plays like a normal person and ignores his existence until he acts.
Not that I see any reason one would compare a joke death in D: 1 for laughs to a guy speedrunning.

One thing I believe doesn't work with his flavor is that when tied to a god these gold drops are indistinguishable from piety, but then gold as a resource isn't a very well defined thing to begin with.

Well if you didn't kill the unrandlords guarding the pan runes (and got said runes) they can appear during the orbrun and that's about the whole degree of influence you have on the stuff the orb spawns. Well chei aside but I like not counting chei.

I don't think it does, there are two readily apparent results from training a weapon skill and those are damage dealt and swinging speed. The swinging speed is literally displayed in the game screen and overall weapon performance is very simply judged by hitting things that are relevant to your dept...

It' not really that huge, and as explained in the rest of the omitted post the technicalities of why you deal more damage are as self-evident as they are unimportant and placing unnecessary detail on them only further distracts the player from the important fact "you're dealing more damage"...
