Our more realistic options for a third rune to attempt the endgame and win are V5 and slime, both of which are brutal for those without certain items or abilities. What would really be cool IMO is a new branch with a rune, if the devs feel stair-stealing in V5 should remain in the game.

Well since none of the 20 or so viewers of this thread deigned to give me an answer, I took a guess and deleted the "Crawl" file in the Appdata folder. Hopefully that doesn't screw anything up down the road somehow.

As in any records of past games, I tried uninstalling the game, deleting the download and re-installing it, but somehow Crawl remembers my past games.

Mishandled Zot 5 and splatted, was so close! I should have just used the 50 or so fruit I had to make an Oklob death wall in the middle of the map, waited/fought with everything that came along/that I could lure back there, and then went for the Orb. Oh well

Also, in case you didn't know, you can get those 4 missing hit points back by drinking a healing potion or a few curing potions when at maximum health.
