I did not succeed killing the hell lords. My character died in the first hell -- I do not know the new hells, and they indeed seems dangerous (and more fun that they were before).

I am very bad at hells :-(

I killed all the unique Pan lords, tough -- maybe they have not all been killed by Strat.

Potion of attraction helps keeping them close to hit.

The necromantcy spells were changed such they do not use corpses anymore. Usually you cast the spells on the living monsters, who will turn into friendly undead upon death, without generating corpses.

Heal wounds are much stronger than potions of magic, though, and Djinni magic users are usually not weak on D1.

Well, they are always shown as useless (grey), so I doubt this is big danger. Besides, I think that some effect may interact with them in the future -- the problem was not "interacting with corpses", but rather than the actual effects were not very well designed. Blood is also a mostly fla...

Unfortunately it seems that from time to time registration of new members is stopped on the forum. With the slowly changing userbase this means that nobody comes here anymore when only veterans has accounts.

I must admit I am little bit surprised by this reduction of base damage. Apart from stabbing, short blades were usually rubish, and this change nerfs early game short blades (when sometimes you use them) in the name of an end game character who for some strange reason trained short blades to 15? You can get strong melee with that dagger + Necro, but the problem is that those monsters that are impossible to hex are usually immune to pain, too. It is convenient to have good melee, though. I have dropped my main weapon multiple times because I was unaware that space not only does not scroll, it selects the first item (usually my weapon).
