YAVP: GrGl^Oka (0.28 trunk) - first win after seven years

There were times when I was quite a bit more active in DCSS, returning here and there to give new versions a shot. And today I finally managed to get a win, my first since an all-rune MiFi way back in 2014 (0.15 trunk at that time). After a winless and runeless 0.27 tournament, I tried something I c...

Well, damn me. Died in Shoals, in a small part due to bad luck (ran into Polyphemos, and Ilsuiw joined the fray three turns later) and in a larger part due to overconfidence - I had quite a break from Crawl and forgot how dangerous each of those can be. Let alone both at once. And Trog's Hand only l...

ToME solves this issue by applying a red-ish "tint" to the whole screen whenever under 50% HP, with the tint more intense the closer you are to die.
I do not know whether and how much this is applicable to Crawl (especially with Webtiles in mind), but it may help at least as an inspiration.
