I also haven't played for a while and tomb has changed quite a bit. The staircases back a level generally aren't under you anymore, which prevents staircase dancing and makes the tomb quite a bit more dangerous, though I think they've tuned down the amount of mummies in order to compensate for this....

What would you want to have instead of Trog? You can't worship The Shining One, so I'm not sure what god could be worth Trog's wrath. (Trog gives magic resistance, regeneration and allies all of which are useful late game)

With 70 armor the only problem I can image you having in zot, is not having enough resistances. (especially fire resistance and mutation resistance are important) And having good enough weapon to kill orbs quickly.

Hmm... Sound quite interesting. I think this god is one of those god you generally shouldn't take so you can enchant your weapon easily and then change for the shining one. Uh, daggers already get to mindelay faster than other weapons (except quickblades): http://crawl.chaosforge.org/Weapon_Speed . And since their base delay is lower, you are hitting faster the entire time you're working down to mindelay too. Obiviously they reach the mindelay faster than most weapons...
