Not to rain on your parade, but the old Gold God idea on the wiki does many of the same things as this in a significantly more polished and interesting way. (Even all the way down to bribing monsters and opening shops. The similarity is actually kind of eerie.)

Trunk binaries in general are rarely updated. The Windows binary was last changed in February, and the Mac OSX ones in November of last year. I recommend playing online or compiling yourself if you want to keep on top of the lastest Trunk changes.
