I don't think it's near as good as earLOBe's, but with some free time I tried to make a somber Death Cob for kicks. Image

Re: Demigod Idea

As a last little note, if a race were to have wild magic it would be best not to throw max wild right off the bat.

Something like light wild magic at lvl 7, mid wild magic at lvl 14, and max wild magic at 21.

I know it wouldn't be a buff... but I think it would be interesting and thematic.

Random Idea for Species

I had a random idea for a species, I don't expect anyone to take it seriously but I thought it couldn't hurt to share. Jack-in-the-Box (or Zom Spawn): - Jack-in-the-Boxes' small bodies prevent them from wearing helmets and any form of body armour, they can however wear gloves, hats, and jewelry. - S...

In tiles, when I go up and down the staircases in the Snake Pit, the art on the walls and floor change theme. Is that supposed to happen?

Yeah, but I don't like the choosing of which god your the offspring of, that's basically worshiping a god again. I had a random thought, I don't know if it's any good, but I thought I'd throw it out there. Give Demigods the mutation; "your spells are much harder to cast, but much more powerful." as a natural mutation, (or some other step along the wild magic branch.) (Also, I think it would be cool ...

Elemental Non-Spell Projectile Tiles Too Dramatic?

This isn't a huge issue, but I thought I would mention; I've always thought the elemental branded projectiles (arrows, sling bullets, etc...) have a too dramatic representation in tiles, (the huge puff of flame for example.) Perhaps this is too irrelevant to even bring up, lol. Just sayin'

Re: A Little Opinion Manifesto...

This is one I find a surprising proposal, almost insulting. If there's one game design principle that DCSS has held up through the years, then it's the reevaluation of old content and being willing to modify and remove features. (This is relevant because in free & open games, I think it's a lot...

I'm not a huge forum goer, so I'm sure these topics have been brought up in the past, but here's some changes I would make to crawl if I held the reins, perhaps more to state opinions than to incite altercation. - Simplify or remove hunger/food. - Remove item destruction and corrosion (compensate by...

True, item destruction and corrosion makes you treat them with some extra caution, but they still aren't as threatening as they probably should be IMO. I didn't point out other enemies because I didn't see them as needing a change, or at least I can't think of any at the moment.
