Idea: slime pacifism extended

As we all know, the slimes don't attack if you worship jyvia. My idea: do something similar based on player race. If the player is undead, undead won't attack. (Unless you attack first). Same with deep elves and merfolk. It would add a bit of consistency to the game.

It's not wizard starting spells, its the fact you eventually have a bunch of spell levels sitting around not having anything memorized. If you have spell levels "gathering dust" then probably you're training Spellcasting too high rather than focusing on skills that are more useful to you ...

I've never even gotten to lair. Furthest I ever got was a orc priest who started a civil war in the orc mines and was doing great before he went down a stairwell and discovered an army of ogres on the other end. My mummies are lucky if they get to the temple.

It happens every time I reach the level specifified in mummyspacing. Furthermore, when mummyspacing is set to 0, there is no crash. That's all I know.

This is the only changed file. It's in player.cc
There's also a declaration for journal and spacing at the start that sets them to 1 and 3 respectively.

Is there any way to make a mummy that doesn't suck.

I like mummies. They're ancient lich kings who've come to harness the Orb of Zot for their own nefarious purposes.
The only problem is that they kind of blow.
Does anyone know how to make a mummy build that doesn't die three levels in?

I tried compiling crawl according to the instructions, but it says the makefile for pcre is missing or something like that. What should I do?
