There are some obvious cases already in existence; a +6 ring of slaying is obviously better than a +4 ring of slaying, a +1 robe is better than +0, etc. etc. I mean there is way how +0 robe can be archimagi thus better than +1 for anybody with spells. Or whatever ego and better in some circumstance...

I just came up with awesome proposal.
Rescale rods' recharge rate so there would be no negative enchantment because it's spoilery and stuff and it doesn't make rods to lose charge with time (could be intereseting mechanic for something btw).

Except it is not about realism, but about god's background and flavour. Realism ~= logical/make believe (in some obviously nonreal setting with demons and stuff) ~= good flavour. I play mostly Ds for a couple of years. 1-2 additional mutations of new tier, consisting of muts with awesome pluses and sick drawbacks would be nice. But i highly recommend to not play with itemslots, especially body (mostly for sake of fighters, may be tons-of-ac-but-cant-wear-armour would be ok)....
