Re: +9 Executioner's Axe: Antimagic or Holy Wrath?

This is what I ended up doing, but if antimagic was definitively better, then I'd have considered using the Holy brand on a ranged weapon. If you had a bunch of skill in bows/xbows (and a good ranged weapon), I would probably have done this. Yeah it would have been ideal, but I hadn't put any xp in...

I have a MiBe that's abandoned Trog for TSO. I have a really nice antimagic axe but with only Tomb, Abyss, Pan and Hell left, (Zot:5 is done too) I'm wondering which of these brands is better. My inclination is to just make this a Holy Wrath weapon and never look back, but I'm open to the idea that ...

I've definitely gotten Fire Storm online before Zot with only 3 runes in possession, though it's likely I was undervaluing other skills. It was a DEWz and it was only my 5th win, so I wasn't exactly the best at prioritizing skills.

Are you going for 15 runes, or just a win? I'd say Slime would be easiest assuming you have rCorr. Crypt is probably the next easiest.

V:5 is particularly dangerous with low MR since being marked is seriously dangerous down there.

There's really no need for a spellcaster-specific deity to have active abilities that the player is expected to regularly use. A spellcaster usually has a whole list of active abilities already, so adding one or two more on top doesn't change the play experience much. Contrast to, say, Trog, whose ...
