kill things with each one, see which is faster/more consistent

basically, higher base damage is better (unless you find a fast weapon with a super-high enchantment and/or additive brand, and even then higher base damage will often become better if you train that weapon skill)

Polymorph should turn an enemy into a Mutant Beast of the tier closest to its original HD. Give these beasts immunity to further polymorphs so you can't just spam it until you get one that matches your resists; but maybe the effect times out after a while.

don't forget "stair kiting": when the down-stairs are right next to each other and the up-stairs are about 1 LOS radius apart, so dancing between the staircases lets you kite an enemy back and forth forever. works best against monkeys.
