Stat Strategy ("stategy" as the Pros call it)

Okay so the shindig is, in previous versions of Crawl which stat to pick when given a choice on levelling up was either binary or a pretty simple flowchart. Has anything changed recently here? And whether it has or hasn't, what is the optimal "Stategy" for placing points? Or at least what ...

If you're willing to stray a bit farther afield into "roguelike-like" territory, FTL is pretty great. Randomly-generated space systems with semi-realtime combat. If you have a choice, I'd get it on iOS, the UI there is really good. I've been playing FTL again recently pretty non stop on m...

I recently switched to console across all the roguelikes I play where it is an option after being a diehard tiles player my whole roguelike life. An idea to keep interactivity is to name shopkeepers after dead players, maybe based on those players' skills. What it comes down to for me is, with the current state of Crawl, I don't want the game deciding what's completely useless for my character.

The underlying problems (the ID and curse minigames) require more drastic steps than this band-aid to alter.
