Gosh speaking of random minigames in the middle of roguelikes wouldn't it be something if in Crawl there was a level (maybe, I dunno, you get in from a fourth up staircase) and inside there were like some predetermined levels of that Japanese warehouse game with the box pushing, and at the end there...

Most of the people who say extended is boring have won lots and lots of games with lots and lots of runes. At a certain point you get jaded. (For me, that happened the second time I was ever in the Abyss, and the first time I was ever in Tomb. I like the hells and slime fine, and if the game is kind...

This reminds me of sealed vaults in ToME which as far as I can tell exist primarily to reduce the amount of exploration you have to do in Dreadfell (anything that does that is most welcome)

Let's not let it go there with Crawl

I just don't like things that are flavourful AND boring or annoying, like the orb run. Many people disagree with you about that, though. I'm one of them, and I know I'm not alone-I like the orb run a lot, despite it being not hard the majority of the time. Yes, this is my opinion. We can go back an...

Relocate < staircases to random (known) squares when entering a level with the orb. This solution is *really* simple (code, interface, flavour). Would this happen every time you enter a level with the orb or just the first time (I assume just once but have no idea how difficult that would be to cod...

You are correct, luring would remain exactly as important, it will, however, become more tedious.
