For kobolds it's 7, not 5 due to small size, and if you're in robes or other EVP=0 armour you only need 1.4 shields

The spriggan idea sounds cool, but I think it would work best as a portal like Bailey, Volcano, etc since increasing branch count can be bad. I don't really know about a fix for a holy or dwarf problems. Forcing a stairdive is interesting but if you don't want to allow retreat, it's probably easiest...
