Re: Official android port

Has anyone tried this with a 10" tablet? Its almost perfect with a 7". I would think a 9-10" one would be incredible before pinch-zoom :)

Re: How are you like/not like a bot?

I die much more than a bot would, esp. at lower levels.

Someone send me a decent bot pleast that will take a HOBe to Lair and Orc Mines very fast! Otherwise my game may never progress :)

Is there a reason it is not available in webtiles? Too much server horsepower or something?

Re: Walkthrough/Guide for Crawl

I watched quite a bit of your video, and it is amazing how fast you speed through and even deal with complex situations. I need ayoutube player I can slow down to quarter speed :) or maybe rip it to video and use VLC, One thing I learned that I didnt know/think was possible was the ability to have a...

Re: Official android port

Is that apple dev license $20 or $20,000? If it was a reasonable amount, those of us already stuck in that walled garden might shell out some money to get a port rather than shell out money for a second device we don't need. I dunno. Licence issue aside, can the same code be ported to the iOS platf...

Re: Official android port

Thanks! For me it appears 38 appears to be a sweet spot (although 20 looks awesome in its own right :)). Is there anyway to change the softbutton that pulls up the keyboard to make it more transparent or hide it altogether?

Re: Official android port

One thing I do a ton on the PC is X>>>> to cycle through the stairs to see which one I want to take, which have been visited yet, etc. Can't figure out how to do that here. It's actually kind of hard to find the stairs at all, since the minimap is so mini as to be useless. The latest versions open ...

Re: Official android port

FWIW on my Nexus 7, whereas Frogbotherer's build would load, this new build will not. It starts at the SDL screen and then blanks out and goes back to the home screen. Did you uninstall the previous version? I did but I will attempt what blacksheep said and report back Edit: and that fixed it. Than...

Re: CIP: Newb MiBe just wanting some small guidance

A promising newbie MiBe is about to meet his end. The $%^# naga mages teleported me into this mess right as I was about to climb the stairs to escape... Bahh if I would have known better I would have cast fear earlier. Any advice on what to do? Im thinking fear, run up, attempt to blink to upper rig...

Re: CIP: Newb MiBe just wanting some small guidance

Geez I just wielded the Staff of Disharmony and got dropped down to -1 INT for a few turns. And then I read the remove curse scroll and it failed..I was sweating it haha, but google turned out to be a friend. How many turns could I have remained brainless before I died? I hate this feature. Which o...

Re: CIP: Newb MiBe just wanting some small guidance

Yeah -- running around with a low enough stat that that putting on some un-id'd ring or randart can put you at 0 is a good way to die a stupid death. If you know the things that can save you (and keep close tabs on your inventory!) then you can do it safely, but "wait I used my last remove cur...

Re: CIP: Newb MiBe just wanting some small guidance

What, of course it is. You've used Sequell... I assume you've seen how many people have died to stat loss. Now imagine the people who died indirectly to stat loss (e.g., while paralyzed) or the people who didn't die but had problems because of it. ?? not sure if you misread.. stat loss != stat deat...

Re: CIP: Newb MiBe just wanting some small guidance

The shield might sound neat when you read the description, but it's not nearly as useful as it sounds. Furthermore, axes are a weapon class that is heavily biased towards two-handed weapons, and you don't have any shield skill anyway. Either one of these factors should be enough to eliminate wearin...

YOL (and die) O was CIP: Newb MiBe just wanting some...

Im not a total newb to roguelikes but I am pretty new to DCSS. Im on char #6 or so and its been going pretty well with my MiBe. Obviously I am going to get stomped on really soon, and Ive had way too many escape situations already at lev14. What is interesting is that I am taking twice the time of m...
