I've been considering that combo as well since all my ranged users always end up with slings due to the shield+sling combo and I've been meaning to give crossbows a try. So aside from Str, should I bother putting any points into dexterity at all or just keep pumping str? (And I'm still not sure - d...

Re: What armour at what Armour levels

Your question really only applies to spellcasters, in which case yes, only wear heavier armor at certain skill levels to keep your spells usable. Armor skill minimizes the EV penalty the armor gives you, it doesn't make attacks less accurate( it does slow them down). Strength and your skill negate t...

IMO Trog is MUCH better than Okawaru for a ranged user because he is much more likely to gift ammo, having his gifts limited to weapons and ammo only. MDHu of Trog was my first ranged win, but a Spriggan Hunter is sick nasty as well (my 2nd ranged win). If you play online trunk, Mountain Dwarf Hunte...

Lucy's got it. A great place to get ammo is the Vault and Elven Halls. You should be able to clear Elves 1-6 around XL 12-14 to have a sweet stack of ammo along with worshiping Trog, who also takes care of the launcher for you. Okawaru is okay, but Trog's gifts are all weapons and ammo. I usually en...

+10, +4 falchion "Daus Bri" (god gift, holy, MR EV+4) on my SPHu.

In case someone doesn't know, the reason this is so sweet is because a falchion is a long blade a Spriggan can use with a buckler. Thank you, Troggy.
