I kept using the move keys long after I learned about Tab and have only recently come to appreciate the latter's benefits. When mashing move keys to attack you can accidentally waste a turn moving when Tab usually wouldn't do anything.

I decided to distort the quick blade. I looked at auts per banish/t'port (assuming no misses) and the advantage of speed 3 over speed 7 outweighed the cleave. Just brand the biggest axe you can. More damage is more damage. Since you are HO you shouldn't be scared of the skill for min delay on a battleaxe at least, or possibly even an exe axe. A quokka with rakshasha-style cloning would hit the design goals in this thread: 1) it previews a later monster ability 2) it is quirky 3) it wouldn't be overkill on D:2 because they're still just quokkas. Though if the clones could clone, that could get really interesting really quickly.

Cleaving would be the only reason I'd choose a speed 7 axe over speed 5 whips, spears, or short blades if my goal is evicting nasties.

It has the weakest of the direct additive damages, +4.6/hit physical vs. +5.7/hit for electrocution and +0.5Nec/hit for Pain (also venom but that's harder to quantify). I believe it is optimal to use Distortion on hand axe if you use Polearms/M&F/Axes. Due to crosstraining attack speed will be good enough. I have to say this is confusing. If getting a sub-7 attack speed with the distortion weapon isn't important, then why not brand a big weapon of the same typ...

I realized just now that since Lugonu worshipers can swap distortion weapons without penalty, this suggests that there is a premium on option 3. This in turn suggests that distortion is not a good always-on brand.
