Re: The 'Questions too small to need their own thread' threa

Torment is only really scary in Hells, because you can hardly rest to regain lost HP down there. Anywhere else, Torment is quite manageable by careful play.

Level 3 life protection isn't a must; it makes Torment deals 35% damage instead of 50%, which isn't such a huge difference.

Max HP percentage damage doesn't sound bad. But this means draining will not kill the target. It might be nice, though.... rN+ then should only reduce the damage by 5%, just like what it does to Torment damage. Because... hey, it doesn't reduce your XP anymore. Imagine how crappy draining will be, i...

I would like Scrolls of Vorpalization to work with more egos (Pain, Holy Wrath, Electrocution). Scrolls can get destroyed, and the wand is kind of rare, so yes, the Teleport Self spell is useful.

I guess you can use the ring, but it's more convenient to just cast the spell.

How about this?
1. Vorpal should go away.
2. EW III should take the role of Vorpal. If the weapon isn't vorpalized, then vorpal it. If it is, then the EW III scroll works like it does now.

Try to get a Wand of Teleportation and/or a Ring of Teleportation before fighting Mennas. The wand and the ring work even when you're silenced. Make sure you have enough levels of Evocations if you decide to use the ring.

Faith is good, especially for ammo gifting. Steel and silver bolts/bullets will really save your day. Save your enchant weapon scrolls for them. If you want to take the amulet off, make sure you have a way to replenish your piety. The Hive can be a really good source of piety. Gong is... dangerous :)

A crossbow gets slowed down really bad when you use a shield, even a buckler. So you shouldn't use a shield if you want to shoot with that crossbow. But then if you don't use any shield, you better maximize your damage output by using a two-handed weapon.

Use a large shield and a sling, simply because you need the best protection you can get. If you can't teleport, then don't let yourself get hit at all and don't let them monsters approach you without first tasting some bullets in their faces.
