Qazlal's abilities are very invocations-dependent, yes. If you go Qaz, it is definitely worth it to get invocations skill solidly into the teens, at the least. (Though I'd imagine with a +7 vamp lajatang and spell support you didn't really need it, but ya know.) Yeah, ended up with 10 Invoc, enough...
