EE is probably better than FE since you don't have the xp to cover elemental resistances very well (definitely start as a book background though). LRD is also single-school so you can get higher spellpower/easier casting (and you never have to worry about hitting yourself since you have lots of AC)....

If you have even one scroll of blinking I honestly recommend just not fighting anything in zot:5 unless you are a formicid or worshipping chei. It's just so easy to teleport + blink to the orb these days.

If you have like any offense at all you can use Pak to kill pretty much everything dangerous with wands, since as you point out you actually can't really run out of piety. This is even easier since you don't really need to train evo to do it because of device surge, so there's not even an xp cost. 5...

Conjure flame is level 3 conj/fire and is ridiculously overpowered, so yeah, usable corpse rot would have to be increased in level since it's just better.

the real problem with confusion is that "potion of remove confusion" is not an item that should exist, but it does so confusion when you don't have "potion of remove confusion" isn't actually something that has been made to make sense

The weapon improving is not really noticeable (in fact enemies improve defensively much much faster than your ally improves offensively, unless things changed since I played on experimental). Monster damage doesn't scale with HD or anything, so even giving it a brand isn't actually much of an improv...

Ignoring monster AC is not very interesting except maybe for short blades (where it is out-of-place anyway since they have a gimmick that works fine); monsters do not actually have much AC and it doesn't vary a whole lot, so you get nearly the same result more simply by just increasing damage a litt...

Amulet of the air actually is very good because rmsl is very good. unless it [Damnation unrand xbow] has been changed recently : the hellfire damage was pretty bad

The hellfire/damnation damage has always been very good (it ignores AC, so it's like elec except more damage). The main problem is you use eight times as much ammo.

AC<0 is the same as AC=0 for all purposes except raising it above 0.

I don't like entropy weavers much either. I would say mr of 60 is hexable enough that you can use hex wands, except orb spiders already used up all your charges so you're out of luck.

The biggest problem with conjurations is that the conjurations gods are awful and the melee gods win the game for you.

Ice beast at level 4 is fine. It's stronger than icicle at the moment you start using level 4 spells, it's weaker than icicle later (icicle is really very good). I don't know, but what you said alone is not enough to say. Harpy group > sphinx > manticore/lindwurm in general, so if the sphinxes just replace manticores/lindwurms then higher spellpower is an obvious improvement. You also get more harpies when you do get harpies at higher power.

Have you actually tried it against enemies? Monsters are not players, and this has important effects on which monsters are good against monsters.

Pakellas is definitely infinite wand charges. You have to try really really hard to actually use up mp/piety faster than you gain them, to the point where you're even killing things like river rats with wands. Like, I literally made a character to test this once, and I'm not joking.

Well as I said the real solution is to remove transparent walls, not try to hack in a bunch of rules to make other things maybe work nicely with them. Letting the player tell summons to attack a thing behind a transparent wall wouldn't work, since the summons would not be able to actually attack it....

It allows you to hit anything you can see that isn't behind a transparent wall.

The devs don't want attacking monsters through walls to be a thing (for good reasons).

Evokables are fine, the problem there is that recharging scrolls probably shouldn't exist and wands of hasting and heal wounds are pretty questionable even without recharging scrolls (and indefensible with recharging).
