Thanks. Healing and running worked fine. Grinder just chased me stupidly.

Ended up using the ?blink since it seemed to be the only safe option. Now in Lair.

Strategy-wise, I'm a little worried that I'm not getting enough escape options. Haven't found any useful books, and Throwing only softens things up before they reach melee. I'll let you know how I progress.

Thanks for the advice, but it looks like I was dead no matter what. There were just too many eels. This floor layout seems impossible if you get shafted, at least if you're not a great player.

Yeah, after finishing the last hell, I dropped my rC+ chain mail, picked up my pearl dragon armor, and forgot to actually put it on. I ran into almost no resistance on my ascension so I didn't notice until I saw the morgue file.

By the way, I used the term "histogram" incorrectly; I really meant a bar chart showing the noise level for each of the last few turns. My concern with showing only the last turn is that it is easy to take several turns quickly and miss an important loud noise.

I still try to stab when I can, but whenever something wakes up, or if I know I'm going up against a high-MR enemy, I go straight for Iron Shot. It's much easier than trying to get it to petrify.

Another update. Finished Vaults, Crypt, Abyss, and Slime, so now I'm on to the hard runes. Pan doesn't seem so bad, but I hesitate since I only have once chance to get each rune.
