A trove can already ask for the horn of Geryon. I once went to hell to get it in a three rune game just to enter a treasure trove. IIRC there was a suggestion in another thread to generate treasure troves at the start of each branch that need the rune of this branch to unlock, to motivate the player...

Maybe I'm just stupid, but I can't upload a translation for unident.txt. :( When downloading the file 'for translation', I get a file containing only the already translated strings. When downloading 'for use', I get the file with some strings already translated. So I translated the remaining strings...

That Kraken opening was an extremely blatant sign of things to come, by the way. Of course, that was part of the point :) A kraken obliterating a group of player monsters is a much better memento mori than a boring old skull, I think. I think you would not be able to upload it to Transifex, hence the different number of lines. I opened the current file that is on Transifex on Notepad++ and it contains html code instead of just text. So I'm kinda clueless on what to translate and what to not translate of it. Any advice would be appreciated. :) It seems to be a problem with the url of the file. Transifex seems to check out...

FYI: If working with plaintext files, the translated file has to have the same number of lines as the original. That sucks :-)

Take Naga Gladiator with a trident. Disable all skills but Polearms until you have some piety with Chei (time to start training invocation). Press 'o' and TAB rapidly until you are in Lair. I think transifex is free for open source projects, IIRC (the hosting service they offer).
But maybe someone could setup a transifex-server just for crawl? It's open source by itself (it's a djange website).

I would always go for NaGl instead of NaMo, since the trident helps alot in the early game. Later you will propably use a demon trident, which is also very strong. Don't worry about the Monks piety boost, since with a Naga you aquire piety very fast while worshipping Chei.

Note that Nagas got nerfed in 0.11 (trunk). Constriction is avaiable not until reaching XL:13, so the early game is a lot harder for them than in 0.10.

... helmets (important mainly for the abilities, resistances and stat boosts you'll be missing, rather than the actual AC ... You can still wear hats. And the difference between hats and helmets is 1 lousy AC IIRC, so it's no big deal. I don't see a problem here. You can grab a Naga with -2 Armour ...

the +10,+11 halberd "Monuyl" (weapon) {slay drac, Str-4 Stlth++}

Probably not the best weapon of all times, but for a light armour polearm naga gladiator quite good, especially in Vaults/Zot with all that dragons around.
