Drop no-mp restoration, make charging wands cost piety, effectiveness on both recharging and surge should depend on Evocation/Invocation skill.

Alternatively, drop recharging and make Pakellas sometimes recharge your wand slightly when you kill something with that wand.

Skill cap makes little difference considering 14 is the skill level required, more or less, to win the game (14 in Fighting/Weapon/Dodging/Armour + Evocations). With +2, you can expect to hit the cap with all 5 skills around your 1st rune.

If you decide to apport the rune, it means you can't just kill the guards. Therefore, making Zot5 harder will only make the game harder for non-usuall combos like spellcasting Trolls and such, something I don't wanna see happen. Extended is optional so I don't see the point of balancing the game aro...

Pretty much no summoning spells are worth anything. Better use of your xp would be learning conjurations or weapon skills.

For me, the biggest problem with Silence is that it's a 5th level doubleschool spell, one which helps you against monsters with usually low hp - the ones which are easy to kill without Silence anyway. Not much use unless you're trying to win a Deep Elf fighter class or smth.

As I said many times before: balancing the game around extended is pointless, stupid and a much better idea is to just remove the Hells, Pandemonium, the Abyss, Ziggurats and anything else that makes infinite XP/consumables possible.

I used to play a lot VS^Ely: 1) Train Invocations to 9. More helps, but really not much.
