Re: Remove amulet of rMut

I'm assuming that removing rMut would probably be followed up with a rebalance of some sort to the common mutators. Regardless, it feels cheesy to have an effectively (90%) absolute resistance on a swappable slot.

Hmmm... Perhaps I should value wands more. I just usually have scrolls of TP, and potions of haste and heal wounds available, so it's not a big deal. And I often get bad wands from wand acquirement. My go to is armour if I'm still missing an aux slot; it has a decent chance of generating a branded p...

Re: Don't Nerf Powered by Death (too hard)

PBD compares poorly to Makhleb healing because it's slow. A few HP per turn is not a big deal in combat, it's why we make fun of people who quaff curing for hp in hells or whatever. It is good for resting faster, which is good for piety decay etc. Compare it to the regeneration spell, it's barely a...

Tweak1: I much prefer the optional form of this; DS are bad at all weapons. OTOH, it might make sense for monstrous to get an advantage there. I'm a little surprised they have a flat Tm skill. It would make sense for that to be at least 0. (Same logic as Merfolk) Wings: -1 move delay is huge. Probab...

Don't Nerf Powered by Death (too hard)

In the Abyss thread, Lasty mentioned his intent to nerf powered by death. In another recent thread, there was a consensus that it fit better as a top-tier facet than current. While I personally agree it's a bit too strong, I want to urge caution; it's a facet that feels very fun and powerful, but in...

I second the 'hybrid' category. If you're running a hybrid build starting with a book background (say VM, FE, or IE) you can take Sif and get early piety, as you're still bringing your book online. Then Sif serves as a way to avoid those annoying out-of-mana deaths to the last killer bee, and will e...
