Reworked rMut into a ring similar to infinitevox's suggestion, but kept the resistance rate as is, and made all blocked mutations be temporary. I think this pretty much solves the problems with mutation resistance.

Great idea! I added that. I didn't really think amulet of ghoulhood would even be preferable to rage, but voraciousness is perfect as a straight combat buff for extended combats.

Ahhh! I missed his point entirely. It's a fair point, but we do actually have somewhat meaningful differences due to aux attack mutations, and all the species differentiation.

Actually I think adozu is right... by changing the chance you get shafted each time you step on a shaft tile, you can make it have the same expected value whether you're walking on new squares or old ones. In essence, fixing random traps effectively makes them Xom-lite in a sense; you (very rarely) have a negative effect happen to you which mechanically is not bound to any floor tile. Flavor-wise this can still be a trap/shaft/whatever of course. Traps can still actually be usefully applied in vaults ...

Thing is, the amulet of purity just doesn't have enough power level to be worth wearing. Clarity and stasis are both extremely strong occasionally, and otherwise stasis is a huge disadvantage. I can't think of a way to buff stasis (including adding it to clarity and tacking on MR) that would make it...

Removed Stasis, and made it a ring instead, since it only really works swappably...

Warding is actually good where it is. Teleporting a summon away is effectively the same as abjuring it, and this way the amulet is useful in a much larger swath of the game.

I'm also not a fan of wand acquirement. I don't think it's as good or reliable as a lot of people. Armour is an excellent acquirement a lot of the time, especially if I haven't seen an aux slot. Staff is good for non-casters. Book is good for non-casters. Weapon is good for getting rare base types.

I wear gourmand preferentially when I don't have any particularly compelling reason to wear another type. It makes the game more fun, even though it has 0 power impact on my character most of the time.

Malmutate shouldn't be 50-50. It should be suboptimal. I don't really care if that's 70-30 or 90-10... that's really just tweaking the degree of badness.

And 50-50 would nerf Zin, since you'd be less likely to want to cure all muts. Not that Zin is underpowered.

If you find a very early acquirement scroll and you haven't seen particular crappy varieties of your main weapon and you have a combo strong enough to reliably hand the next few floors, I might. Like if I'm using polearms, and no spears have dropped, for instance.
