Re: [PROTIPS] Secret Tricks

My point is that pressing Ctrl-X after every kill and checking the list for relevant items (which would be ideal play with what's proposed) is a lot more tedious than pressing 'o' and walking over all items. If you are not interested in picking up stuff in the late game, just switch it off (Ctrl-A)...

Re: [PROTIPS] Secret Tricks

Why do you have to step on piles to see items anyway? It seems somewhat silly and probably came from a technical limitation in a very early version of the game. Would you want to check items in LOS everytime you kill a monster? I think it's useful after a big fight where a large AOE has killed a lo...

I feel you.

I kind of avoid Mennas whenever I see him unless I'm absolutely sure I can take him and I have some kind of infallible, silence proof escape mechanism, such as a wand of teleport.
Even then, I tend to only engage him if I have some kind of decent spammable summons, like shadow creatures.

Polearms are one of the worst weapons in the game. You'd be better off using a war axe and a shield, or an executioner's axe for 2h.

I'd generally stay away from polearms unless you happen upon a very, very good randart.

Magic mapping should map "secret" areas, otherwise the application is inconsistent. The player has no idea what is considered "secret" or not.

I personally feel that T&D should be dropped as a skill and trap detection should be based on other skills/attributes.
