Summary 0009930: dumb enemies can shout
Description I had recited (Zin) at some orcs, and left them. When I come back some are marked as "dumb". I stab them, and they shout before dying. Learndb has no entry for "dumb" so I'm not sure if it means something else in crawl, particularly since "mute" is also a status.

I'd assume "dumb" means they can't hear (lower chance to notice you) but can still speak (shout) if they notice you.

That would be "deaf."

Dumb is an almost synonym for Paralyzed in the codebase because long ago someone didn't want to type out stupefied or perhaps stupefied is a separate effect.

Fun fact, both paralyzed and dumb monsters are perfectly allowed to shout, even though can_act() returns false for them!
