Summary 0009426: Odd behavior with petrification/immunity
Description Observed a {chaos} effect that gave a NPC gargoyle 'petrifying' status which then either disappeared on its own without progressing into 'petrified' or got removed when the next {chaos} effect inflicted paralysis.

I've noticed {chaos} occasionally inflicting status that monsters are supposed to be immune to so it may be more general. Flavor-appropriate for Xom weapons to ignore the rules of reality, but if the effect works against players it may not be so inconsequential.

After further testing, seems that the petrification status remains but is not displayed if the monster is paralyzed.

Casting petrify on a paralyzed monster gives "nothing happens... (a few turns later) the foo turns to stone!"

So maybe least that part was just UI quirkiness?

That still leaves the question of whether gargoyles are immune to petrification or if they lost that with MR-inf.

Looks like the immunity got fixed (twice) and {chaos} was an independent confounding factor and 'how UI displays status effects' is a separate issue, so I guess this one should be flagged as resolved?
