Summary |
0008533: DCSS 0.14.1 does not respect the Windows display 'Change the size of all items' setting |
Description |
On my Macbook running Windows 8.1 BootCamp the retina display is very high-resolution (2560x2048). By default, Windows sets the Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Display setting 'Change the size of all items' on Windows 8 to be 'Larger' rather than 'Smaller'. Smaller is dot-for-dot with the screen resolution and Crawl works properly at this size. On any setting above 'Smaller' Crawl's default tiles screen goes far off the right and bottom sides of the screen and is unusable.
In this mode, none of the initialization file settings work to run the game properly in Windowless mode. Manually setting the window size does not work. In windowed mode it is possible with a lot of tweaking to get something that roughly fits the screen.
Running DCSS with Windows in 'Smaller' mode does not work because the icons are too small to view at the Macbook native resolution.
This problem is always reproducible on my laptop and I believe will affect any version of DCSS. |
