Summary 0007957: AC/EV stat display not updated along with player skill drain
Description When the player character's drain amount changes (i.e. when the player is drained or recovers from being drained), his AC, EV, and SH can also change due to changes in skill values. However, the GUI display for those values is not automatically refreshed when the drain amount changes; the player has to go to another screen and then back in order for the change to appear.

Example: I have 51 AC and 9 EV. I get drained by a monster. The display still reads 51/9. I go into the inventory screen, then back out to the main view, at which point the display is correctly refreshed to 50/8. Same thing happens when recovering from draining.

Presumably, the game just doesn't know to refresh the values displayed when drain changes, and this is an oversight from the initial implementation of the new skill drain system.
